Dear all,
I am sad to inform that under health related considerations, we, the staff in charge of the 2009 La Loma Track & Field Festival, along with our committed sponsors and the Mexican athletic community, have decided to cancel this year’s edition.
To all the coaches and athletes that had selected our meet as part of their competing program we want to express our commitment with our principal goal, that is, to provide the best conditions under which all the participants could compete to improve their personal best and hopefully, achieve the minimum standards that would represent their qualification to the 6th IAAF World Youth Championships and the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, to be held respectively this summer.
Unfortunately to all of us, the recent health threat that we all face together, despite our nationalities, as inhabitants of this globalized world, as humanity as a whole; compromises the high quality standards that we had set for our Festival.
Regardless of this, our commitment is a long term one. We will continue with the La Loma Track & Field Festival in the years to come, for the rest of this Olympic cycle and hopefully, for as long as we can.
